In a gaddadavida
If anyone ever tells you that writing computer software is easy, tell them to go shit a pile of bricks and see if that’s easy.
I’ve been working on several projects at once, rather exciting. They all tie in with one another in some way, I guess mainly because each one was a result of a need that I had in a different program.
Anyway, I’ve never been able to interface with DLL files, they always seemed to daunting. Well, that has come to an end now. I have written a series of encryption en decryption routines into two separate DLL files. Why two? Because the decryption DLL will be shipped with the software, while the encryption DLL stays with me. I’ve decided to work with Rijndael and Serpent. Actually, I prefer Serpent, but since it’s not AES, I just use both. Together. With 512 bit one way hashes.
The result is magnificent.
On a less geeky note, I want to comment on the passing of Pricilla Viljoen. She tragically lost her life in a motorcycle accident on Thursday 23 February 2006. Rest in Peace. Damn she was fine, and so was her body. Hot was not the word.
For lunch, I am enjoying a Russian and Cheese toasted sandwich. Everything in the Kiosk is tasty, except for their hamburger. Lisa is also very yummy…
Hmmm, the Chilean boss’ contract has ended, so I am kinda bossless for the time being. Suits me just fine. Barrick has announced this morning that they have approved making Johannesburg the head office for African operations, which means my job is okay. That really is quite a load off my shoulders, it’s been stressing me quite hectically, as you will see in prior post(s).
Random thought of the day: Just walk away.
