La Updatimus
So after a number of years, I've decided to write here again.
In this time, I've worked in Capetown for a networking company that didn't pay me what they promised, so I left to work for a local mining company. They ended up screwing me, and exactly 12 month later I resigned. The stresses there almost killed me, and I mean that quite literally. I developed heart problems from the stress!
Thereafter I worked at Verizon Business, the best job I've ever had. And MTN then bought Verizon, ruining everything. We had to move into this sterile white office, and all the fun went away in the workplace. People started resigning almost on a daily basis, some of them were with Verizon for 12 years or more.
Then Dimension Data phoned, and I've been with them since November. It's a pretty good job, pays extremely well and the client I'm based at is really cool, so no complaints there. My colleagues are awesome too!
At home, things are less rosy. Three years ago, Bianca had a fight with her folks and ended up moving in with me. Let's just say our problems boil down to jealousy and her children fucking up my house. If they see something, they destroy it.
We've had some serious financial difficulties during the three years, mostly due to her not having a job or not having a well paying job.
She has a good job now, as do I, and on the financial front at least things are good.
Presently, I really battle with her kids, they don't respect anyone or anything, and they're still as undisciplined and untidy as the day they moved in, regardless of how hard I try to change their behaviour. Not that their mother is tidy in any way…
But I digress.
I also have 2 bikes, a ZX-12R and an ER-6n. I had a 1981 GS850G which I gave to my dad.
Speaking of bikes, my mom got het motorcycle license a week after I got mine!
And my brother had a near fatal accident on the 28th of March. Broke his back in 3 places, left elbow was almost destroyed (4 plates and about 30 odd screws makes up his bone structure there now), as well as a spiral break of his left femur and a shattered left ankle.
The miracles that happened in that hospital are countless. He lives and has started walking recently. Pity he treats the whole world like shit, he has so much to be grateful for.
I've been exercising a lot, go to gym at least 4 times a week. This week, I started with interval training and it's harder than I could have imagined. My fitness levels are the best they've been in 10 years, so I feel pretty damned good at the moment. Just have to work on this potbelly, it's proving very hard to bust the fat down there. Apparently stress is the leading cause of a potbelly, and I'm thinking it's no bullshit. I started getting fat when I started moving up in the world, and it wasn't food that was causing it.
I'm working on it though.
Random thought: Praise the Lord.
